Need For Speed Undercover – Review

Need For Speed: Undercover, another addition to EA’s recent streak of appallingly put together games, is known to be better on the XBOX 360 than the PS3! (May I note, its known to be rubbish on XBOX as well ;P). As some of us would know, the last ‘NFS:Pro Street’ let us down by taking us of the streets with ridiculous driving. Well I must’ve thought it would’ve got it better, but to be frank, its even worse! Well here’s some more details of the game, or you could check out our little ‘fill me in’ here:

Name: Need For Speed: Undercover

Release Date: 21th November 2008

Price: RRP £47.97

Genre: Racing-Action

Published: EA Games

Score: 6/10 (Nothing Special)

PS Heads Star Rating: ***

Positives:

  • Plenty of thrilling Cop Chases
  • Instantly hit the street races
  • Nice cars come looking for you!

Negatives:

  • Lots of annoying and nagging gameplay issues
  • The Most Wanted version for the PS3 version, and it not been improved upon.
  • Story isn’t so interesting and definitely does ‘get you out of your seat’ – to hop onto the PC.
  • FPS (Frame Rate) renders a nearly unplayable game at times. Too much lag in other words.

Comments:

As I know, this may not even be off-putting for some people who just want to get straight into the action, but to me, I regret it. Overall it got 6/10 so I would conclude it by saying, its an okay game; needs improvements but nevertheless, its okay to play, but nothing special. Its not worth saving up for though, may I add!

And, a little advice from me: You’re better off buying Burnout Paradise for a brilliant £25, to take advantage of all those great updates and patches Criterion are raining on their fans!

Order Need For Speed Undercover – £37.99
Order Burnout Paradise – £24.99
