Well, Rockstar hasn’t really been my favourite studio this year, partly because of the great disappointment of GTA IV (for me) and also the HUGE delay of any news from L.A. Noire, the game that was set to change the face of intertwined gameplay and cinematics. However, the game went into hiding, while Niko Bellic (unfortunately) was at large, selling like hot, Russian cakes (that sounded better in my head).
IGN AU caught up with the President of the Game Developers’ Association of Australia, Tom Crago, who revealed to us that L.A. Noire has got “… another year to go”, so you’re telling us, after close to two whole years, that there’s another year to go in development? All this after this tantalising trailer they left us after running away:
On top of this pretty disappointing tidbit of news, we also have some pretty solid confirmation that the game will come out on both PS3 and XBOX 360. Noire has been transferred mainly to Team Bondi’s studios, which might have something to do with the move from PS3 exclusivity.
Now, the last bit of news isn’t so disappointing. Surprisingly its pretty encouraging and, although I hate to say it, makes me look forward to this game:
“[L.A. Noire] could be the biggest budget videogame in development anywhere in the world. It would certainly… in terms of console titles, be in the top ten… LA Noire is a massive massive project.”
Well, I gess that’s not so bad: at least we ended on a happy note!
