Surely you didn’t think Konami could retire a money machine like Metal Gear Solid so early, did you? It looks from the pretty boring picture above like Konami are planning/working on another Metal Gear Solid game. Obviously, Guns Of The Patriots marked the end of Snake’s story, but that doesn’t mean we can’t go back to Snake’s ‘Existence’ in a prequel to the series that sold so many units. So what was there before Snake?… BIG BOSS! The picture was on the Japanese Trademark database, put there by Konami, so we can be pretty sure that another game will be released.
The bottom line is that if we do see another Metal Gear Solid game, its likely that it’s a prequel, and if it is a prequel, it’ll be the last game in the franchise. I have to admit, though: this news is pretty hot, since I and a lot of other fanboys were a little bit sad about the end of a fantastic gaming franchise. With Tokyo Game Show drawing nearer and nearer, we’ll all be speculating about the existence of the game, and also… what platform it’s on!
