EA’s Official Dead Space website have confirmed that the game will be banned in Germany, Japan and China, supposedly because of the graphical nature of the genre (3rd Person Sci Fi Shooter). The news came as a blow to the devoted gamers in those three territories, but it’s not such a surprise for Chinese gamers, as it’s known that the media consumed by it’s citizens is generally heavily monitored.

The other two territories, though, are very well known for their gaming cultures and so it’s a bit of a surprise that Dead Space is being shunned over there. This news also comes as a big blow to EA, who would’ve probably benefited a lot from those territories, for a game which isn’t gathering so much attention.
