Amazon US has listed Resistance 2 and it’s collector’s edition, and also priced them at $59.99 and $79.99 respectively. So, is it worth the extra $20 (£10)? what will we be getting for spending a reasonable amount of our cash on the same game? Well…

The Collector’s addition, along with the game, comes with a DVD containing Behind the Scenes footage, an exclusive Insomniac commentary and the Twisted History Trailer I showed you recently. On top of that, it includes ‘Exclusive in-game HVAP Wraith multiplayer skin’, which I’m not entirely sure wat it means but I assume it’s a costume for the multiplayer mode in the game. But the goodies don’t stop there! The Chimera will never leave you, unless you leave your exclusive 5.5″ Chimera action figure, complete with it’s own Bullseye!

The addition that appeals most to me is the double sided Resistance art book depicting ‘war-torn America from two unique perspectives’. Partly beause I’m a great lover of art, and particularly gaming concept art, and I would jump on any exclusive little piccies of my favourite game.

Probably the most unexpected addition to the game is a first look at the upcoming Resistance novel, A Gathering Storm. I know, it might be a little weird for a book to be made out of a game, but I’m actually looking forward to it, it might define a new part of the gaming culture!

Anyway, this Collector’s edition isn’t just a shinier box with a prettier picture (although it will have those essentials), it actually offers some real collector’s items, which may even be worth more than $79.99 each in a few years.
