Sony Europe yesterday announced the introduction of Vidzone, a free streaming service for music videos exclusive to the PlayStation 3 console. The service is expected to be ready for early 2009, which is set to be another big year for gaming, with the likes of Heavy Rain, Fallout 3 and many more gracing our consoles throughout the year. The service is set to be available to European, Australian and New Zealand PS3 owners, and will be completely FREE! As a music lover, I’m incredibly excited about this prospect, and I’m also pleased that Sony aren’t planning to stop too soon with adding more and more media capabilities to the PS3.

The current Vidzone service is one of the largest online music video sharing services, allowing users to create playlists and share them with other users of the service. You can check it out here. A small charge will allow you to download songs to your system or mobile phone.

And, best of all: it’s FREE!
