Sony Style, Sony’s official online marketplace, has taken 40GB PS3s of the site, and therefore discontinued it’s sale. But, never fear (and don’t cry), because the new and improved 80GB model in in the spotlight now, especially with the release of the 80GB MGS4 bundle on Sony Style, which is now available for a reasonable $500 from the American site. However, it is only on the American site, and not on any of the European sectors, meaning that we’ll have to wait a little while (as usual) to get the long awaited (in Europe, anyway) 80GB MGS4 bundle. However, at least we’ve got confirmation that the old debate of 40GB vs. 80GB is over, and 80GB PS3 gaming has got the go-ahead.

The 80GB system features the much sought after backward compatibility, and the MGS4 bundle comes with an extra rumbly Dualshock 3 wireless controller as well as… a beautiful copy of Metal Gear Solid 4, one of the best games. Period.

Update: on Tuesday, Amazon.com put up the MGS4 bundle, marking a new shipment due to be shipped on August 21st.
