Today, the release of PlayTV has been officially dated by Sony Europe’s David Reeves, and is pretty much set to hit shelves on September 19th, despite the original date of September 10th. Not such a drastic difference, and it has also been confirmed that there will be a £30(ish) price drop from the original, very vague price range of £100 to the confirmed UK price of £69. Not bad for a premium DVR which can also play your favourite freeview channels.
And, what’s more, this product is a European console exclusive, so, even if the rest of the world got their hands on Qore, we get our hands on some top of the range hardware (suckers). I’m pretty excited for the release of this unique add-on from Sony, which is definitely something unique to the PS3 console, and definitely not something he likes of… Microsucks would ever think of.
