It’s been a while since I did a bestsellers post, but I thought it was about time to get back to it, as I myself find them pretty useful because I find out what’s been hot both in Blu-ray and PS3 games. Hopefully you guys will find it useful as well! Lets get started then.
PS3 Video Game Bestsellers
- Soul Calibur IV
- £39.98
This game is shaping up to become one of the biggest fighting games of this gaming generation, alongside the upcoming comeback classic, Street Fighter IV. This is the leading (or only) weapons based fighting game on the market and a must have for Tekken gamers looking for something new and unique - Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
- £29.98
This is my only gaming purchase for this month, and I’m pretty chuffed with it to tell you the truth. The £20 price drop certainly gave me that extra push to finally make the purchase, and hopefully it made you guys make the transaction as well. If not, why not buy MGS4 for £30 from Amazon today? - Grand Theft Auto IV
- £39.48
Still going strong after three months on shelves, GTA IV is one game I am not impressed with. For some reason it doesn’t hold that gaming quality that Vice City and San Andreas delivered in their masses. I was pretty excited about this game in the pre-release stage, but now I’m disappointed that it’s still so popular. Oh well, I guess it’s a better game that I thought. - Top Spin 3
- £24.98
Maybe the £15 price drop helped it’s sales, or maybe it’s just a great game, but this game has certainly been flying off shelves, since it’s release in late June. It’s definitely the most popular sports game on a worldwide scale at the moment and a big contestant for the bestselling sports game of the year. - Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
- £14.98
Since it’s release earlier this year, this game has been getting people riled up for the release of GT5 which is due for release later this year (?). I guess it’s super-low price has something to do with it, as well and now that it’s been bumped down at most stores to about £20, this game is still selling like… hot cakes. Amazon has this one in stock for just £15!
Blu-ray Bestsellers
- Batman Begins
- £15.98
Batman has been everywhere for the past few weeks, in the run-up to the second Batman flick, Batman - The Dark Knight. This was a pretty good film, and if you own a PS3 or any Blu-ray player, £16 is a pretty good deal, seeing as the RRP for a recent Blu-ray flick is about £20 to £25. A must watch for fans of Morgan Freeman’s work, who was great in this particular Action movie. Get well soon Morgan! - Casino Royale
- £12.98
This is probably the first movie to be transferred to Blu-ray, and since it was, it has been in the top 10 Blu-ray bestsellers, it’s a great movie, with some great flaws to match, but at just under £13, this is a great watch for virtually anyone. A mix of humour, action, sorrow and suspense. - The Orphanage
- £16.98
This is a gory horror/thriller movie directed by the same guy who worked on Pan’s Labyrinth, which was a work of art in Spanish. This one is said to be more intense and a lot more haunting. You can expect great storytelling and a little bit of vomit with this watch, so be careful. Still, though, this is definitely one for the daredevils amongst us PlayStation Heads. - Planet Earth: Complete BBC Series
- £37.98
This one just doesn’t move, does it. The last time we did a bestsellers post was back in April, and this was on it! But with good reason. This is one of the best documentaries I have ever watched, even though I was forced to do so at school, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The camera work is the stuff of geniuses, and the pure footage is priceless, so £40 is a bargain! - There Will Be Blood
- £16.98
This is a drama directed by Paul Anderson, which made a huge splash in the box office last year. The movie follows a guy called Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day Leyis, who won an Oscar for this flick), who discovers oil while mining for silver, I guess we gould say he struck gold, but he didn’t (LOL). He builds an empire off the back of all this oil and on the way to riches, he analyses himself and his releationship with particularly his son. This is a work of art, and is a real storyteller, like No Country. Definitely one for the dramatics amongst us, or just those of us who like a good movie (everyone?).
I hope this post was just a little helpful, and I also hope I make this a regular thing in the future. It’s certainly been fun for me! Tell me what you think of my choices and give me some opinions on the entries this month with a comment below.
