When I first got my PS3, I was… happy to say the least. I immediately set it up, hooked it up with my wireless router and installe the system software. Then I turned it off… for a week. I went on holiday for a week and came back, looking forward to playing my top-of-the-range games console/media hub. So i switch it on, and it turns of within 5 seconds of turning on. “ARGHHHHH!” I said… maybe a bit louder than you just read it. I tried and tried, then I looked in the manual (a rare event in my house, no one hardly ever ‘looks at the manual’). I learnt how to do a factory reset on my recently deceased console… No luck.
In this (very short) tutorial, I’m going to run you through how to reset your console, erasing all memory and activity. Sounds hard, but it really only takes… 2 seconds (literally).
Step 1
Make sure your PS3 is plugged in… If it isn’t, it won’t turn on: Something I’ve had to learn the hard way (LOL).
Step 2
Make sure at least one more time that the PS3 wont turn on…
Step 3
You sure? Positive? OK then…
Step 4
Hold the Standby (On/Off) button for a few seconds.
That’s it! Told you it only took a few seconds! But seriously, though, this is really important to know.
PS: If you’re wondering what happened to my PS3, I called Sony and asked for a replacement LOL.
