PlayTV, PlayTV, PlayTV!… Play TV hitting the UK soon!PlayTV is another new great feature of the GREAT PS3 console! It comes out very soon this year!! Anyways as most of you may not know, the PlayTv for the PS3 is being released in the UK first! Thats great news! Well, some of you may be thinking-What is PlayTV?
Well Play TV is more or less a Sony add on which enables you to turn your PS3 console into a digital video recorder (DVR)! (Great for those without Sky ;D). Its a twin Channel Tv tuner (Meaning it recieves channels which are possibly from freeview!) which allows the user to watch, pause and RECORD live Television! Just like Sky+ it also allows you to record TV series (Lost for example) so they can all be scheduled to record so you dont miss NONE of it! Also it can be streamed with the PSP via Wifi for viewing remotely using the Remote Play feature. PLUS you can record TV WHILE you are playing games!! =D (That Brilliant!)

Sony was supposed to launch it ‘early this year’and also its meant to be released in the UK first! (As i said before, which is of course a great surprise! Since we dont get anything here first D;). However, official news in today says the PlayTV will launch on September 10th and, yes, in the UK first.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Sony Europe’s head honcho, David Reeves, said:
“Yep, it’s going to be 10th September that PlayTV comes out. It was very difficult [to overcome the dual recording/gaming issues] for some of the tech guys but we had to include it in the firmware upgrade, 2.41, but it’s done now.”
When PlayTv comes, it will be 99 Euros! UK price is to be confirmed. but added to the new 80GB PS3, the console takes one step closer to being a real heavyweight contender as a great living room entertainment hub! Well seems good for the Playstation Fans and Hopefully it is going to be a feature worth waiting for!!
