This is the first Monthly Beef at PlayStation Heads, and the title of the post explains it. We will be pitting the two big titles in the industry in each genre, and at the end, I will decide which one wins based on in-game features.
Today we have Top Spin 2 and Virtua Tennis 3. VT3 was a PS3 launch game and sold extremely well and has been seen as the best sport game of the console. I have to admit it is a great game: good graphics, gameplay, variety and functionality.
I’ve never played a Top Spin game, but IGN says it’s ‘ the best pure tennis game’, so it must be good. Right?

WOW. I wasn’t expecting a tie in our first Big Beef, but there you have it. These are based on my opinions and also some opinions on this forum thread. I think it’s quite accurate and both games are great, but if I go with my brain, I’ll pick Virtua Tennis next time around as I know I’ll always get a great product.
I would vall VT a game that you can play regularly or often, but Top Spin’s slight loss in the graohics dept. leaves it 2nd best in my eyes. Shallow, I know, but I’m a sucker for good graphics.
