Konami/Kojima have released their MGS Database on the Japanese PSN Store. The download will include pretty much everything that’s included in the Official Piggyback guide. That means Walkthroughs, Spoilers, Easter Eggs, Secrets and a round-up of the past 3 games’ storyline’s, just to get you in the know if you haven’t played them or you just need a mind refresher.

The ‘database’ is also set to include a language feature, to break language barriers in the game. It’s a pretty unique idea from Kojima. Also, the database is, I think a little better than the guide, as it ‘blacks out’ spoilers if it’s your first play-through of the game. The dtabase is also said to include relationship diagrams, something the guide doesn’t have.

This, pretty good, download is said by Konami to be ‘the first of many’ extra download’s available for the game, so we can expect the hype around Kojima, Konami and MGS4 to be maintained, or maybe even rise. Maybe Konami will save the best download till last, and sales will prosper for quite a time to come.

I’m probably getting Metal Gear Solid 4 next week Thursday, but you can expect a brief skim-through kind of review this weekend. I’ve been playig it over the past few days on and off, and I’m now getting a feel for the game now (and the Japanese tunes aren’t too bad either LOL).
