Title pretty much says it all. This morning, Firmware update 2.36 was released and includes only one update, but an impotant one anyway.

The new update allows for flawless play of some other games of the PlayStation format, such as those oldies you want to pull out such as Tekken Tag Tournament or Street Fighter or something else.

Update v.2.40 has been officially announced to include In-game XMB, which will allow players to access their messages, download status, the PSN Store etc. while playing a game (or while a game is paused). It should be pretty cool and would basically perfect the PS3s Operating System and the functionality or efficiency of the XMB.
