I’ve been pretty excited for the last few months about the upcoming release of Street Fighter IV. Today I spotted Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for the PS3. The release will come with souped up 2D, 1080p HD graphics all drawn new by Udon Entertainment.
Speaking of graphics, I actually think the graphics on this game are better than the graphics for Street Fighter IV. Maybe that’s because Capcom maybe tried too hard with the 3D graphics of SF IV, but maybe it’s also because I always loved the charm that those old 2D, pixelly graphics emmited.
In the picture above, you can see the improvement in graphics. I actually think it looks great. Remains it’s charm, side-scrolling gameplay etc, but it isn’t stuck in the past. Online and offline multiplayer for up to 2 players is also a new feature and you know what? I might actually pick this up over Street Fighter IV. The game is set for release later this year, but I wonder if it will be released as a download or a hard disc version.
