This is a question I’ve been asking myself, and when I found out the answer, I thought I’d share it with you. So here it is: How to install PS3 XMB Themes from an external drive . Now I’m going to assume you have a USB Device, like a memory stick or even an external hard drive

Step 1.

Download your desired Theme, and store it on your selected USB Storage Device.

Step 2.

Insert your USB Device into your PlayStation 3 console.

Step 3.

On your XMB Screen, go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Theme Settings’ > ‘Theme’

Step 4.

Go to ‘Install’

Step 5.

Select Device to Install from - There should only be one device shown called ‘USB Device (Storage Media)’.

Step 6.

Select Theme to Install.

Step 7.

Go back to ‘Theme’, and select the Theme you have just Installed.

Finito
