Well, Army of Two is a pretty average old 3rd person shooter, and to be honest, I was expecting more from the PS3
version.
The one thing that struck me down, I saw even before I put the disc in. I was reading the instructions booklet, when I noticed the storyline. I can’t exactly remember now , but it was something about the war in Afganistan and related rubbish junk stuff. Now, it’s ok to have your views on the matter, but to include it as a very major factor in a game, is, I think, quite irresponsible and (to me) slightly creepy, maybe even a bit propaganda-ish(?).
OK. So, opinions aside, the gameplay is about average, controls are straightforward (enough i guess) and the graphics are certainly up to the PlayStation 3’s standards (although I don’t think they paid enough attention to the visuals). However, the split screen is just intrusive. I thought the game would be in a sort of Streets of Rage format, where multiple players can play on a single (not split) screen. Anyone remember Streets of Rage? Here are a few pics to show what I’m talking about:
See what I mean? Wouldn’t that be much cooler than that boring, old, done before, tired, predictable splitscreen?
I mean - a superior console like the PS3, surely it should excel all in gameplay?
Rating: 6/10
What do you think? Not good enough for the PS3? Huh? Can’t hear you.
Oh what the heck. Just make a comment!

I used to LOVE streets of Rage could play it for days…
Anyway Army of Two - Split screen is a real distraction. Can’t really get into it with a team player as the other screen distracts. Playing by yourself is okish but it just defeats the purpose of the game. One for the sawp shop methinks….
